The Path to Healing and Hope
The discovery of your partner’s compulsive or addictive sexual behavior is usually a very painful and traumatic experience.
Not all partners’ experiences are exactly the same….
Maybe you feel that “something is going on” and don’t know what it is, suspect that your partner is lying about his behavior and hiding it from you, have doubts about his activities in the computer, or suspect he might be unfaithful.
Maybe you have discovered something specific, found receipts from a topless bar, shocking pornographic websites or online chat rooms, outrageous credit card bills from a secret account…. |

Workshop for Intimate Partners of Sex Addicts:
the Role of Partner Trauma
"I would equate finding out about his addiction to coming home to your house burned down... there is nothing left, all you had and all you loved is gone"
- partner of a sex addict
This workshop is based on the Partner Trauma Recovery Treatment Model for Partners of sex addicts.
While most traditional treatment models for Partners have been restricted to the concepts of Codependence and Co-Addiction, the Partner Trauma Recovery Model expands this perspective by integrating a critical "piece of the puzzle": Partner Trauma.
Partner Trauma acknowledges that Sex Addiction often results in a traumatic injury in the Partner's sense of self and world view, both before and after discovering the addict's acting out.
Recognizing, understanding and treating Partner Trauma is a fundamental component of the healing process for Partners and the coupleship.
Workshop participants will explore five different dimensions of Partner Trauma, expand their understanding of their own traumatization, symptoms and reactions, and experience support and validation in a safe and confidential environment.
